General Summary:

Lifeboat Distribution is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Sales Manager position, specific to Lifeboat’s Micro Focus practice. In this role, the Sales Manager’s primary focus is building and maintaining relationships with Micro Focus and its business unit’s employees, while solely responsible for overall sales for Micro Focus. This includes serving as an Account Executive for Lifeboat’s Eastern Region. In addition to owning the Micro Focus relationship, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, market share, and gross margin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Building, maintaining, and owning the strategic relationships with Micro Focus including key contacts
  • Recruiting and introducing new reseller partners to Micro Focus
  • Developing and maintaining an excellent working knowledge of vendor partner processes
  • Enabling and educating reseller sales representatives, reselling the Micro Focus solution
  • Executing Micro Focus based marketing programs
  • Understanding of both industry trends and vendor partner technical value proposition in order to effectively approach the appropriate individuals/groups at reseller locations with the right Micro Focus partner offerings
  • Overall ownership of sales in East region, quoting and processing orders
  • Quote to order logistics including all pricing

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
  • Possessing a deep understanding of selling principles, order management, project management, and operations
  • Ability to present in both technical and nontechnical terms based on audience
  • Ability to manage gross margin and demonstrate financial acumen required to close complex transactions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
